15 celebs die hun eigen film vreselijk vonden

Acteurs en actrices zijn ook maar gewoon mensen met meningen. Ook zij kunnen een negatieve mening hebben over films, en dan zélfs films waar ze zelf in speelden.

Deze vijftien acteurs en actrices zijn niet bepaald enthousiast over sommige films op hun cv.

1. Jamie Dornan en Dakota Johnson // 50 shades of Grey

De twee hoofdrolspelers van de 50 Shades serie claimen goede vrienden te zijn, maar hebben vaker door laten schemeren dat ze een hekel hadden aan de film en aan elkaar. Zo vergeleek Jamie de film zelfs met Hitler: “Mass appreciation doesn’t always equate to something good. Think of Hitler!” Ook Dakota vond de film ongepast, en wilde niet dat haar familie er naar ging kijken. Toch vonden ze de film niet vreselijk genoeg om ermee te stoppen. Had vast niet te maken met een dikke uitbetaling.

2. Katherine Heigl // Knocked Up

Wíj vinden Knocked Up een hele leuke film, maar Katherine Heigl heeft spijt van het project. Zo staat sowieso niet bekend als de meest prettige actrice om mee te werken, en het is natuurlijk ook niet netjes om je eigen film in een slecht daglicht te zetten. Aan Vanity Fair vertelde ze in 2008 dat ze de film seksistisch vond: “It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys.”

3. Robert Pattinson // Twilight

Er kwam maar geen einde aan de Twilight-reeks, en Robert Pattinson moest het hele verhaal uitzitten. Toegegeven, hij is dankzij deze films wel echt doorgebroken, maar dat betekent niet dat hij het leuk vond. Zo vertelde hij aan E! News: “When I read it, it seems like a book that wasn’t supposed to be published.” Oei.

4. Matt Damon // The Bourne Ultimatum

De laatste film van de Bourne-reeks was volgens Damon echt een flop. Dit was volgens hem de schuld van de scriptschrijver Tony Gilroy, die een bizar script zou hebben aangeleverd voor een heleboel geld.

5. Christopher Plummer // Sound of Music

De vader in de klassieker The Sound of Music was helemaal niet tevreden over de film, en had waarschijnlijk liever gezien dat de Nazi’s wonnen. Tegen The Hollywood Reporter zei hij dat hij de musical echt haatte “because it was so awful and sentimental and gooey.”. Wij snappen persoonlijk niet hoe je de heerlijke musical kunt haten.

6. George Clooney // Batman & Robin

George was een lange tijd bang dat hij de Batmanreeks verpest had met zijn film Batman & Robin. Tijdens de Graham Norton Show bood hij zelfs zijn excuses aan aan het publiek. “Let me just say that I’d actually thought I’d destroyed the franchise until somebody else brought it back years later and changed it. I thought at the time that this was going to be a very good career move. Ummmmm, it wasn’t”.

7. Daniel Radcliffe // Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Huh, wat? Harry Potter, niet leuk? Daniel Radcliffe heeft zich vast versproken. Al gaat het volgens hem niet om de film zelf, maar om hoe hij er zelf in acteert. Zo vertelde hij aan Daily Mail: “It’s hard to watch a film like Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, because I’m just not very good in it. I hate it.” Hij vond dat hij te monotoon praatte en dat het gewoon niet duidelijk overkwam wat hij wilde weergeven. Arme Daniel.

8. Megan Fox // Transformers

Megan was overduidelijk ook niet tevreden over haar eigen acteerwerk in de film en ook vond ze dat de personages alleen maar aan het rondrennen en gillen waren. Ze had zelfs geen goed woordje over voor de regisseur Michael Bay, en noemde hem “Hitler on his sets”. Zeker niet mals, en waarschijnlijk ook één van de redenen dat ze de Transformers-reeks ontvluchtte.

8. Michelle Pfeiffer // Grease 2

Niemand wilde een deel twee van Grease. Grease had een prima einde en het was allemaal logisch zoals het was. Maar zoals dat wel vaker gaat in de filmindustrie, probeerden ze het film-succes toch nog wat verder uit te melken. Zo vertelde ze aan Hollywood: “I hated that film with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was. At the time I was young and didn’t know any better.”

10. Mark Wahlberg // The Happening

Ook Mark heeft zijn haat voor zijn eigen film geuit. Tijdens een persconferentie nam hij dan ook geen blad voor de mond: “The Happening. Fuck it. It is what it is. Fucking trees, man. The plants. Fuck it. You can’t blame me for wanting to try to play a science teacher.”

11. Halle Berry // Catwoman

Halle Berry won de Razzie Awards voor slechtste actrice in 2004 voor deze film. Ze nam het nieuws enigszins sportief op, maar in haar dankwoord was ze vooral heel erg bitter over de organisatie van de film: “First of all, I want to thank Warner Brothers. Thank you for putting me in a piece of shit, god-awful movie. It was just what my career needed.”

12. Channing Tatum // GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Channing had een contract lopen met Paramount en moest uiteindelijk meedoen aan deze film. Hij had een bepaalde deal gesloten met ze, en als jonge acteur had hij gedacht dat dit echt geweldig zou worden. Zo vertelde hij: “Look, I’ll be honest. I fucking hate that movie. I hate that movie.”. Gelukkig kwam het later weer helemaal goed met hem en zijn reputatie.

13. Alec Baldwin // Rock of Ages

Alec heeft echt ontzettend veel spijt van zijn bijdrage aan deze geflopte musical. Hij vertelde publiekelijk nog dat hij de film vreselijk vond en een echte ramp, “A week in, you go, ‘Oh God, what have I done?'”. Hij wist gaandeweg al dat het vreselijk zou worden en heeft volgens geruchten de studio gesmeekt om hem te vervangen, maar dat hebben ze geweigerd. Arme man.

14. Arnold Schwarzenegger // Red Sonja

Zijn meest beschamende film, volgens hemzelf, is toch wel Red Sonja. “It’s the worst film I have ever made. When my kids get out of line, they’re sent to their rooms and forced to watch Red Sonja 10 Times. I never had too much trouble with them.”. Klinkt ons als een heel goede opvoedingsmethode.

15. Bill Murray // Garfield

Hij accepteerde deze rol alleen maar omdat hij dacht dat het script geschreven was door Joel Coen, maar kwam er gaandeweg achter dat het was geschreven door Joel Cohen. Een begrijpelijke vergissing, maar de schade was al gedaan. De film was een flop en dat vond hij zelf ook.
