Hoe leuk – modeontwerper Marc Jacobs lanceert goedkopere lijn ‘The Marc Jacobs’

We kennen Marc Jacobs allemaal van het gelijknamige modehuis Marc Jacobs. Hij creëert prachtige items, maar helaas hangt daar een flink prijskaartje aan. Gelukkig zijn nu ook wij, na eventjes sparen, in staat om kleding te kopen van de Amerikaanse modeontwerper. Marc lanceert namelijk een goedkopere lijn genaamd The Marc Jacobs.

Marc kan het niet laten om zijn eigen naam te gebruiken in werkelijk elke lijn die hij uitbrengt. En groot gelijk heeft ‘ie, want sinds hij in 2014 stopte bij Louis Vuitton, moet hij het hiervan hebben. Toch moeten we bij zijn label-namen altijd denken aan die ene keer dat hij de Jacobs by Marc Jacobs for Marc by Marc Jacobs-lijn uitbracht. Ja dit is echt gebeurd.

Modeontwerper Marc Jacobs brengt ‘betaalbare’ lijn uit

Goed, back to business. Het label The Marc Jacobs is een stuk goedkoper – maar nog steeds een beetje duur – dan het grotere label Marc Jacobs. Het is de opvolger van de betaalbare lijn Marc by Marc Jacobs, dat er in 2015 mee ophield. Liefhebbers van Marc by Marc Jacobs zijn door het dolle heen met deze lijn and we feel them.

Het nieuwe label bestaat uit kleding, tassen, sieraden en accessoires. Allemaal even kleurrijk, zoals we dat van Marc gewend zijn. Hij zette dit label niet alleen op, maar huurde Lotta Volkova in om met hem het look book te maken. Lotta werkte eerder al voor Vetements en Balenciaga. Niet de minste dus.

Voor de campagne heeft Marc alleen maar tweelingen op de foto gezet en dat levert bijzondere plaatjes op. De foto’s zijn een feestje om naar te kijken en al helemaal met de items van The Marc Jacobs erin.

De collectie is vanaf nu verkrijgbaar op de site van Marc Jacobs. De items zijn een stuk goedkoper dan die van het label Marc Jacobs. Toch liggen de prijzen alsnog aan de hoge kant; een shirt kost al snel €110 en voor een flared broek reken je maar liefst €330 af.
