Bella Hadid loopt mee in protest tegen geweld van Israël in Palestina

Topmodel Bella Hadid liep afgelopen weekend mee in een protest tegen het geweld van Israël in Palestina. Het is niet de eerste keer dat Bella en zus Gigi Hadid zich openlijk uitspreken tegen het geweld tussen Israël en Palestina. Het topmodel post foto’s van het protest op Instagram en deelt een belangrijke boodschap.

Bella Hadid in protest tegen geweld in Palestina

Afgelopen weekend werd een protest tegen het geweld in Palestina georganiseerd in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Niet alleen duizenden mensen waren op de been om hun steun te betuigen, ook topmodel Bella Hadid liep mee in de mars. Bella, wiens vader Mohamed Hadid uit Palestina komt, droeg een Keffiyeh terwijl ze de Palestijnse vlag liet wapperen. Het protest werd georganiseerd op Nakba Day, dat staat voor het conflict in 1948 tussen Israel en Palestina, waarna Israel zich onafhankelijk verklaarde.

Bella Hadid nam een break van social media en dit is wat het haar bracht

Het is niet de eerste keer dat Bella Hadid zich uitspreekt over het conflict in Gaza. Zowel Bella als zus Gigi Hadid hebben zich afgelopen week meerdere keren actief uitgesproken via social media. Ook deelde ze een foto van vier jaar geleden op Instagram, toen ze ook al meeliep in een mars voor Palestina.

Daar schreef ze bij, “4 years ago… it has always been #freepalestine . ALWAYS. I have a lot to say about this but for now , please read and educate yourself. This is not about religion. This is not about spewing hate on one or the other. This is about Israeli colonization , ethnic cleansing , military occupation and apartheid over the Palestinian people that has been going on for YEARS!”

Ook post Bella foto’s van het protest van afgelopen weekend en schrijft ze op Instagram, “The way my heart feels.. To be around this many beautiful, smart, respectful, loving , kind and generous Palestinians all in one place… it feels whole ! We are a rare breed!! It’s free Palestine til Palestine is free!!! P.s. The Palestinian drip is real 💧 #FreePalestine”

Ook zus Gigi Hadid en broer Anwar Hadid spreken zich via Instagram uit. Gigi postte een foto met een tekst waarin ze oproept om het geweld in Palestina niet te negeren. Anwar plaatst een video van de Israëlische apartheid-muur met de tekst, “❤️🖤💚🤍 THIS IS THE ISRAELI APARTHEID WALL, untill this concrete monster has fallen and palestinians can return to their home land in peace; we cant stop speaking on this, have real conversations and come to the conclusion yourself.”
